I'm engaged!!!

John proposed to me on Sunday the 19th of September! The proposal was so much fun! He tells me, "Everything I need to know about life I learned from Noah's Arc." He beckons, "Don't miss the boat," " For safety sake travel in pairs," "When stressed, float awhile," and (my favorite) "No matter the storm, when you are with God and John, there is always a rainbow waiting!" I love you John!!! You make life fun, and I can't wait to be your wife. I'm grinning from ear to ear! XXOXOX...

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day Brunch started with laughs, flowers, presents, and great food! What could be better than enjoying family? The icing-on-top-of-the-cake was sitting in between my daughters during Relief Society. What a delightful Mother's Day! Thanks girls, you are the best! Thanks Kim for my awesome corsage!

Happy Easter!

General Conference fell on Easter this year, which made Easter all the more enjoyable! Kim and her family came and Kerri and her boys were here to share in the festivities. The Easter egg hunt took place inside as it was raining outside! The kids didn't seem to care as they scurried about trying to fill their baskets with eggs! We all enjoyed ourselves very much!

New Orleans

Visiting old plantations, such as the Houmas House Plantation, was a lot of fun! The grounds with all the manificent live Oak trees, statues, water features, and gardens were fun to explore. I wanted to plunk myself down under a tree and soak it all in. Visiting with Peter, Kristian, Lane, Kathy, and Barry was such a treat. Southern hospitality is absolutely the best! Thank you for making my stay so memorable!

"Wicked"

Kimberly and I traversed to San Francisco to see "Wicked!" We had a delightful time. We stopped in Walnut Creek for dinner and then hopped on Bart. The weather was perfect! I love the sound of music wafting through the air as we came up the steps from the Bart escalators (street musicans). The theater was only a step away. We had perfect seats in the middle. I was meszermized from beginning to end. I want to savor it again! I loved the story which was told from the perspective of the good witch. Thanks Kim!!! Let's play again soon!!! xoxoxo

The gym!

Back from the gym...Mark, my trainer, is kicking my B--! I started shouting, "Sir, yes sir!" We laughed...oh my!

Sometimes I go about pitying myself, and all the while I am being carried on great winds across the sky! Sometimes I feel I am creating neither heat nor light, just the icky, perversely, pleasurable squish of self-pity between my toes!

Decisions...

Doubt often means don’tdon’t move, don’t answer, don’t rush forward. When I’m mired in confusion about what the next step should be, when I’m asked to do something for which I feel little enthusiasm, that’s my sign to just stop—to get still until my instincts give me the go-ahead. When the spirit compels me toward the best path to take it never leaves me with “Maybe,” "Should I?” or even “Perhaps.” I always know for sure when it’s telling me to proceed because everything inside of me raises up to reverberate “Yes!”

Friendship

When we honestly ask which persons in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness...makes it clear that whatever happens in the external world, being present to each other is what really matters.

Thought for today...

The Authentic Self Is the Soul Made Visible
Today be willing to reflect quietly on the role that rhythm plays in your daily life. Your heart will always tell you what's working and what's not. Restoring rhythm to the way you conduct your affairs can bring you contentment and a sense of well-being that will nurture and sustain you when the cares of the world can't be left behind.
